Why does she have to use the word “truly” in more than 50% of her sentences?
My VP is a cyborg. Ok, fine. It’s a she-borg. A typical robotic speech from her at staff meeting goes:
“This is truly an educational experience and truly our job is to nurture the young, so that they can develop to their best potential. Truly, I wish to…..”
You imagine the agony of listening to this kind of lousy talk, puts me into a drowsy state without fail.
She also needs to dish out MOE directives which I suspect she’s been eagerly memorizing every night at the expense of her husband’s libido.
Yes, typically she’ll work out some shit like “the classroom is a protected space for teaching and learning to take place.” I mean, please lah, who speaks like that? It’s like saying “the bedroom is a protected area for copulation to take place.” Geez…
The tone is simply cold and corporate-like.
She’s one absurd personality in school I simply can’t stand or have enough of. Why? There’s something about her that is seriously wrong, mentally or conceptually. Sorely lacking in the human spirit and compassion. She’s all about hype, directives, circulars and education in the very primal paper form you can find it. Just to reinforce my point, she was working at MOE HQ prior to this. I think the HQ smells fishy. I think they clone you, inject control microchips into the clone and send them back to schools. As for the primary clone subject? Sent to the nearby Biopolis for genetic alteration.
I suspect she gives a certificate to her husband for his sustained achievement of staying married to her.

Obviously you're not cut out for management level or HQ level job, if you can't stand what's she dishing out. Do you think if education is all about teaching students, we need a MINISTER of Education? We can simply subsume it under Ministry of Information and Arts, for e.g.
And a Minister is pretty high level, despite what Melissa did.
You must understand, education at in the school is about shouting and passing knowledge. Education at a CORPORATE level is about strategic planning, direction, attaining the mission and vision, achieving KPIs, break new standards, spreading of corporate values and all that stuff. Well, maybe Shu Hann can tell you more about that.
And it's no different here in the Airforce. Hence, sometimes we scratch our heads in wonder on the things we do, when essentially the role of the Airforce is to KILL PEOPLE EFFECIENTLY. And cheaply, if possible.
oh yah.. talk about KPIs.. man, that acronym ought to be banned man! Have been hearing lots and lots of that crap ever since i took that step back into the corporate jungle.
still finding my way round those CRM, CSM (no, apparently it stands for Customer Satisfaction monitoring. not Company Sergeant Major), EDP, DLT, ABS (nothing to do with car brakes either).
hmm.. maybe i'll write a blog entry on these stuff.. man..cant get enuff of 'em.
