Possible future engagements for GENUS tutors

1. Arrange/source/recommend/provide ensemble materials for junior small groups
2. Meet up Weekly/fortnightly/monthly for guidance/review with concert small groups
3. Weekday sessions to help beginning members to cope with new ensemble scores
4. Weekday sessions to help improve on technique through playing simple solo pieces/etudes

I think it's a darn waste of resources to have them conduct sectionals.

I fully support your suggestions, Owls!! :)

I believe the tutors will be more than willing to assist in the nurturing and guidance of the small groups and juniors.

In fact, we have already brought this up many years ago, and much has been said about engaging the tutors more, in order to benefit the learning process in Genus.

Yet, things always seem to fall short in terms of planning and the execution (including logistics and timing/rooming arrangements). Somehow, as the year passes by, the Comm is often so preoccupied and saddled with Concert(s) preparation and admin issues, that again, the poor tutors are left with the unenviable and uninspiring task of conducting sectionals! (which nowadays are not even on a regular weekly basis! )

I believe it is up to the next Comm to take this up, IF they want to see any changes. I dont think it is fair to say that the tutors are also responsible for the admin planning and coordination bit...
